Mary Shea, in her senior year at Cardinal Gibbons HS in Raleigh
in 1979 set National High School Records in the 2-mile, 5,000,
and 10,000.

At a meet April 7th in Ft. Lauderdale, FL she ran a 2-mile (3218m)
in 10:03.5 (10:00.00 converted to 3200), and 15 days later in College Park, MD

And on June 15th in Walnut, CA Mary ran a 10,000 in 32:52.5 (equivalent

Junior (19 & under) records (6/15).

It was the fastest 10,000 in the world for 1979. Her US Junior Record
